Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney is a means of granting a person of your choosing authority to act on your behalf should you be either absent or if you become unable to act for yourself through either mental or physical incapacity.  If you become incapable of managing your own affairs and no such power were in existence, an application would have to be made to the Court of Protection for a Receivership Order.  The procedure can be lengthy and expensive.
